PJVM

PJVM has been producing beats and shit since 1997 under various disguises. PJVM`s debut release, electro influenced Svanström LP album is definitely igniting dancefloors everywhere.

Ghettotech and Miami trance

When he was only about 10 years old, PJVM a.k.a Petteri Turtiainen, influenced by his older brother´s record collection, started listening to old skool electro and hip-hop. Although his mother tends to take most of the credit from urging Petteri to attend music classes in school, such artists as Africa Bambaataa, Mantronix and Arthur Baker may have had deeper impact on him than just playing a flute during his basic education. In his teens this budding producer virtuoso played bass in his first band Teinirasia, as he himself remarks “almost as good as Sid Vicious”.

His career in making electronic music started when Petteri bought his first synthesizer at the end of the last decade. The investment was serious and later led to buying a sampler. Petteri has produced trashbreaks at times only with a laptop computer, nowadays he has returned to producing mainly with a synthesizer.

Petteri Turtiainen has produced and released music under many different monikers. He started as DJ Vähämieli (meaning DJ Half Wit), after a short stint as PJ Vähämieli he finally changed the name to PJVM for short. He has also appeared under the name Dj Syrup and as part of Munchies which is a collaboration between PJVM and Randy Barracuda of Imatran Voima.

Working in various projects and collaborations PJVM has released along with Exogenic also on the Heavy Disco, Octagram and Kostamus labels.

The Svanström LP is PJVM`s first album release, it was preceeded by the very sought after vinyl single I Think You Are also released on Exogenic Breaks Records. The electro influenced Ghettotech/Miami trance album will definitely ignite dancefloors everywhere. In the future Petteri will continue to compose his own experiments as well as doing remixes and production work for other artists.
