Velours Perfect

Growing up as young nerds in a small industrial town in Sweden the brothers of Velours Perfect, Daniel and Ulf Dufwenberg, had a hard time finding good music since there were no record stores. The brothers had to cling on to every record they could find. That is why their influences come from lots of different styles of music, from 60’s soul and and obscure italian film soundtracks to the hip house of The Beatmasters and Tyree.

The two swedish brothers Daniel and Ulf Dufwenberg have been making music together since the early 90’s. In the beginning the music was mainly a way for the brothers to avoid sports and responsibilities, but eventually they discovered the true joy of analogue synthesizers, vintage organs and sampling.

Along with their gear list their samplebank grew, and soon they were mixing hip hop beats with jazz samples and squealing synth sounds. Being too shy for rapping or singing, Velours Perfect has always depended on instrumental melodies and lots of different samples to keep their songs groovy. The music is a mix between electronica and ambient with rythms from hip hop and soul.

In 2002 Velours Perfect participated with the track ”Different Passages” on the Exogenic Breaks compilation ”Complications”. In 2006 they released their first single ”All the way EP”. In January 2007 they followed with the 13-track ”King Size Brothers”.
